Roles and Responsibilities: Gates Team

As a member of our Gates Team, you’ll be the friendly face that welcomes thousands of visitors as they arrive at Battersea Park Fireworks! You’ll play a key role in setting the tone for an incredible evening, ensuring every guest feels welcomed, informed, and ready to enjoy the celebrations.

Your role will include scanning tickets, directing attendees, answering questions, and providing helpful information to ensure a smooth and seamless entry experience.

With your energy, confidence, and friendly approach, you’ll help create a positive first impression and play an essential part in making the event safe, organised, and memorable for everyone.

Typical duties may include: 

  • Ticket scanning –  ensuring tickets are scanned correctly and supporting guests with any technical issues, ensuring a quick and seamless entry experience.
  • Guest welcome & way-finding – greeting attendees with warmth, offering clear directions, and helping everyone find their way into the event. 
  • Customer service – answering questions about the event, facilities, and transport with confidence, clarity, and a friendly attitude. 
  • Crowd support & safety – supporting the safe and steady movement of attendees through the gates while helping to maintain a welcoming environment. 
  • Queue management – keeping queues organised and flowing smoothly, ensuring guests enjoy an efficient and positive arrival. 
  • Problem-solving – identifying and reporting issues early, assisting visitors who need extra support, and staying calm and solution-focused in a busy environment. 
  • Teamwork – working closely with Supervisors, Managers and fellow team members to deliver a consistent, professional, and high-quality visitor experience. 
  • Visitor experience – going the extra mile to ensure every guest feels welcomed and supported. Whether it’s answering a quick question, offering a helping hand, or simply greeting someone with a smile, your friendly presence will help make their evening special.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous gates / ticket scanning or similar experience is desirable
  • You must have brilliant customer service skills
  • Enthusiastic, polite and super confident
  • A loud voice will be handy

Candidate requirements:

  • You must be a UK resident or have the right to work in the UK
  • You must be able to provide at least two references from previous employers
